Christ, that was a weekend and a half. And I’m glad and sad it's over in equal measure. First up, I would like to thank those who came and stuck it out in what was some of the worst weather in 100 years. And with people dying round the country in flooding and massive areas underwater I salute anyone brave enough to go to a music festival!

Day three, the final day of Bestival 2008. The weather is looking positive, the mud's drying up and the crowds are out for King Creosote and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. But I’m still recovering from a very hectic Saturday day and night.

Some hilarious rumours flying around the interweb, from the main stage having sunk, to Aphex Twin contracting e coli and turning into a mad cow. The truth is much more simple – we had some heavy rain, there’s some mud onsite, quite a bit in places but we’re open, everyone’s having a ball and the spirit of Bestival is alive and well.

I'm singin in the rain, just singin in the rain... well when I say singing I mean swimming! Tad damp down here after some hefty rain overnight but the vibes are positive and the weather’s gonna perk up! There you are – British optimism at its best.

What a glorious day! Am sat basking in the sunshine in my shorts and flip-flops. OK, so in reality I'm just donning some waterproof trousers and testing my wellies for holes.

Ah bollocks, I just got stung by a wasp, and my thumb's swollen up like a crab apple. Teach me for having ridiculous long hair to get wildlife caught in but I got my own back by mashing the wasp's head into the wife’s jacket potato. Don’t mess with a stressed da Bank.
The Bestival site started going up on Friday and it’s all ahead of schedule so far – the main stage skeleton is emerging out of the ground, the 6000 capacity Big Top is looming over the 24 Hour Field and the Jestival comedy tent and tiny bandstand are all up. This is my favourite part of the week, watching it all spring up out of the green fields. Then everyone turns up and ruins the scene!
