Wainwright, Rufus : Crumb By Crumb

Sir Rufus goes jazz

Somewhat heartening, isn’t it, that being given a dog’s name is no real barrier to becoming a smouldering, homosexual opera-pop messiah. So it is with Sir Rufus Wainwright, and while his ‘Crumb By Crumb’ – a download-only single plucked from last year’s ‘Want Two’ LP – reclines atop the sort of jazzy bassline that strongly recommends you slide on slippers as you listen, Rufus’ agreeably louche delivery means you won’t want to burn this to CD, strap it to a stick of dynamite, and explode it on a deserted industrial estate with a bunch of Norah Jones CDs.
