Mystery Jets: Inside Four Walls
Mystery Jets
Same shitty hairdos, great new song
Having so far failed to get hipsters dread-locking their hair at the Eel Pie Island barber’s consortium and strutting down the prog-disco arm in arm with their elderly relatives, the Mystery Jets’ way of life makes its most convincing appeal yet with a powerhouse of a double A-side. We all know ‘…Dennis’ by now, but it’s ‘Inside Four Walls’ that stands out like a man with a colander on his head. A stirring song in which bells, ghostly chanting and organs add drama to Blaine’s tender poetry about finding his own way in the world (something that’s easier when your frickin’ dad isn’t in your band). Proof that hippies have feelings too.
