The Delays

Hooray

Another spectacularly unspectacular keyboard-orchestra offering from Delays, then, and one with what sounds like Christmas bells at the end this time (in April! Gadzooks!). In the same way a roomful of chimps with typewriters will eventually end up writing the complete works of William Shakespeare, Delays could spend infinity shoving together faux-epic string effects and squeeze-neck vocal takes, like on this effort, in an attempt to recreate something akin to their 2004 breakthrough ‘Long Time Coming’, but our money is on the chimps bagging an opening night at the Globe first.

In an oversaturated market, Delays are a beacon of light in a sea of mediocrity. Their previous albums are full of fun, catchy tunes and I am eagerly anticipating ‘Everything’s The Rush’ from one of the best, yet overlooked, live bands around.

A paragraph of patronising, up-its-own-arse, humour and insight-free wa*k. Lollipop

Agreed, does someone actually get paid for writing this stuff. There's no actual review here, just a load of cheap shots. One wonders if the people who write such reviews have ever played a note on an instrument, which, if they haven't doesn't really give them much of a leg to stand on as far as offering any critical opinion.
