While recording his album 'Doggystyle' in August 1993, Snoop Dogg was arrested in connection with the death of Phillip Woldermarian, a member of a rival gang who was fired at and killed in a gang fight. Snoop Dogg was acquitted the following year. The rapper has also been arrested or in trouble with the police more than 12 times ranging from alleged sexual assault (charges dropped) to carrying a police baton. He was sentenced to five years of probation last year for gun and drug charges.
