FACT: Director David Allain learned his trade by working as an assistant on the Daniel Craig-starring gangster flick Layer Cake.
THE LAST SHADOW PUPPETS - ‘THE AGE OF THE UNDERSTATEMENT’
FACT: There is a scene when a little Russian boy eats a swiss roll – they had hundreds of the cakes on set for the retakes.
THE RACONTEURS - ‘SALUTE YOUR SOLUTION’
FACT: Director Autumn De Wilde also did the cover photo for The Raconteurs’ debut album ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’.
PARAMORE - ‘THAT’S WHAT YOU GET’
FACT: The video director gave up directing music videos and now does episodes of Dexter. However, he shot this promo as a favour to the band.
DOES IT OFFEND YOU, YEAH? - ‘EPIC LAST SONG’
FACT: The final scene is a recreation of the band’s ‘We Are Rockstars’ video, but this time in miniature robot form.
THE FUTUREHEADS - ‘RADIO HEART’
FACT: The radio in the video is a family heirloom – it’s Ross’ grandfather’s.
THE PIGEON DETECTIVES - ‘THIS IS AN EMERGENCY’
FACT: Police turned up at the shoot as they saw signs outside with ‘…Emergency’ written in huge letters and thought there was a hostage situation.
THE ZUTONS - ‘ALWAYS RIGHT BEHIND YOU’
FACT: It was directed by Alex Courtes (who did the White Stripes’ ‘Seven Nation Army’) and filmed in Los Angeles.
HOT CHIP - ‘ONE PURE THOUGHT’
FACT: Alexis and Al were the only two band members flexible enough to perform air guitar with their legs.
