'Hollyoaks' actors to launch indie club night

Two cast members are organising a monthly event

Two members of the 'Hollyoaks' cast are turning their hands to gig promotion with the launch of a new monthly indie club in Liverpool.

Claire Cooper and Zoe Lister, who play Jacqui McQueen and Zoe Carpenter respectively in the Channel 4 soap, are set to launch their 'Tarquin Won't Jam' night at the Bumper venue on Hardman Street.

New bands from the north-west are set to perform each month at the event alongside a soundtrack of indie, rock, Motown, electro and soul.

The night kicks off on December 3 with performances from Cats In Paris, Lyons & Tigers, and Reemer.

While the identity of the 'Tarquin' mentioned in the club night's name remains a secret, Cooper has promised that things will become clear "We're keeping him a bit of a mystery man. He's a bit like Charlie in 'Charlie's Angels'," she said.

See Tarquinwontjam.co.uk for more.

The news comes shortly after it was announced that Dirty Diegos, the fictional band in 'Hollyoaks', will release a single, 'Play', on November 24.

I think I'll have something better to do that night then go to Bumper, such as walking round in circles with a stone in my shoewww.rashrecords.co.uk
