Illness forces band to pull performances
Vampire Weekend have cancelled two shows in the UK due to illness.
The Brooklyn band are currently on tour to promote their self-titled debut album and were due to play at Manchester’s Academy 2 tonight (February 27) and Glasgow’s Classic Grand tomorrow.
Singer Ezra Koenig announced the cancellations on their Myspace page in a bulletin that reads:
“We're very sad to announce that we have to cancel this week's shows in Manchester and Glasgow due to illness. We were very psyched to come, but at least we'll be back in May.
We sincerely apologize to anyone who was planning on seeing us. Hope we can make it up to you in a couple of months.
Please send positive health vibes our way.
Best,
Ezra”
The band will return to the US to kick off a tour with The Walkmen on March 6.
