Tom Waits announces tour in YouTube 'press conference'
'Glitter And Doom' mapped after 'Hydra' constellation
Tom Waits has announced he will embark on a rare tour of the US, revealing the dates in a quirky ‘press conference’ on YouTube.
The eccentric singer posted the spoof video on his website today announcing the jaunt, which he has christened ‘Glitter And Doom’.
He mapped the dates using astronomy, matching the route with the constellation Hydra and listing the cities he said they formed the acronym ‘Pehdtsckjmba’ which he says stands for “People envy happiness, dogs sense courage, knowing jubilation means better ass…sets.”
Waits last toured for two weeks in 2006
The dates are:
Phoenix, US Orpheum (June 17, 18)
El Paso, US Plaza Theatre (20)
Houston, US Jones Hall (22)
Dallas, US Palladium (23)
Tulsa, US Brady Theatre (25)
St Louis, US Fox Theatre (26)
Columbus, US Ohio Theatre (28)
