Salford duo are nominated for three gongs

The Ting Tings, Bjork and Hot Chip lead the nominations in the first ever UK Music Video Awards.

Shortlists have been announced today (October 1) for the ceremony, set to be held at London's Odeon West End cinema on October 14.

The Ting Tings' 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' is nominated in the Best Pop Video category as well as Best Editing In A Video and the People's Choice Award.

Hot Chip's promo for 'Ready For The Floor' gets nods in the Best Alternative Video, Best Art Direction and Best Editing categories.

Bjork's 'Wanderlust' has been nominated for Best Alternative Video and Best Art Direction.

Meanwhile, The Hoosiers have been nominated twice in the Best Pop Video category for their songs 'Worried About Ray' and 'Cops And Robbers'.

The Chemical Brothers have pulled off a similar double for Best Dance with their promos for 'Salmon Dance' and 'Get Down'.
