The Hold Steady have said British festivals are better than American ones.

Speaking exclusively to NME.COM just before taking to the stage for their V Festival set at Staffordshire, vocalist Craig Finn praised British events.

"They're muddier here, but I think they're more fun," he said. "I think it's more different, more fun and generally bigger in scope."

The band also showed NME.COM's cameras their pre-show warm-up routine.

I think, yes, you are the only one. Embarassing statements about Radiohead aside, they're pretty damn fine. And they were one of the best things I saw at CMJ a couple of years back.
