Radiohead and Kaiser Chiefs push for new music rights

Radiohead, The Verve, Kaiser Chiefs Klaxons, Kate Nash and Robble Williams have joined a pressure group which seeks to give artists greater control over their music.
The Featured Artists' Coalition argues that bands should maintain the copyright to their music, which can then be leased to record labels.
The pressure group also wants its members to be consulted on how their music is used, the ways it is sold, who gets the money and the rights of performers to be brought in line with those of songwriters.
Currently, record labels normally own the rights to the music their artists make.
Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien told BBC News: "For us, this is a no-brainer of an issue and we believe that all artists and musicians should be signing up to this too."
