Oasis brand Keane 'shit'

Oasis

Oasis

Noel Gallagher also reveals life threatening incident

Oasis have slammed Keane again - branding the trio "shit".

Noel Gallagher criticised the band for recent comments they made about their forthcoming album 'Perfect Symmetry'.

He said: "(Tom Chaplin) He's going on and on about being taken out of his comfort zone when making his new album. What the fuck does that mean?.

"Why would you want to be uncomfortable when making an album? No matter what direction Keane take, it doesn't matter - they'll still be shit."

The band have been renowned for slamming Keane in the past, with Gallagher branding the trio "twats" and Liam calling singer Chaplin a "posh lightweight" after his spell in rehab in 2006.

But Gallagher heaped praise on U2 and defended their singer Bono, who he believes is often misunderstood.

He added: "I fucking love U2 and I always have done - I love the size of that band. Whether you like them or not, you cannot deny that U2 have written some great fucking songs.

"People will not accept that Bono is sincere - in this cynical age, they think he's really just a cunt. But he's not."

The Oasis leader also revealed that the police had to be called in during the recording sessions for their new album 'Dig Out Your Soul' after somebody threatened the band.

He told The Belfast Telegraph: "There was an incident when some fucking lunatic turned up at the studio saying he'd written all the songs that we hadn't yet recorded. The police had to be called - he threatened to kill us, although not Liam, funnily enough."

Meanwhile the band have also been accused of plagiarising Cliff Richard's 'Devil Woman' on album track 'The Turning' by the veteran singer's fans.

Sincerity and cuntliness are not necessarily opposites, Noely G.

He's such a bitter tedious knobhead. Picking on the innoffesive Keane. And Bonio is a cunt.

As well as Cliff Richard, 'To be where there's life is a carbon copy of Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles, and 'Get Off Your High Horse Lady' is the same vocal melody as Neil Youngs 'At The Turnstiles'..Oasis are the most unoriginal and bland band in the world. This album is absolutely horrible

ugh.noel or liam are always slamming bands.get lost. stupid attention-seeking monkey-faced idiots!

jjbeeson

Oct 6, 2008

hey oasis here's an idea instead of slagging off other bands for a change why don't you concentrate on making a good album like bak in 95 ever since then the quality of you music had gone down like a stone in the sea!!!

Noel your not wrong Keane are Shit.

qcardy

Oct 6, 2008

Noel branding another band as shit...what a surprise. although I completely agree with that schmuck on this one, Oasis is shit too. he needs to get off his high horse, stop criticizing other bands and worry about his own shitty music.

scuzzbucket

Oct 6, 2008

Well, I don't know about Keane, but Oasis are seriously completely and totally shit, they made 2 good albums then turned into the most boring, irrelevant, uninteresting/uninspiring band ever, so I think Noely, nice bloke though he is, should keep his mouth shut about music unless he can recapture his old talent, which he obviously never will, having achieved success and subsequently lowered his standards to subterranean levels. He's too lazy to even write an album's worth of material these days. Face it Noel, your glory days are long past and your musical output is bland, boring, crap.

Here we go again. The tonedeaf twatrock dadthug opens his lips and the NME just puckers up and swallows his offerings whole again. And what tasty bon mots are we offered by the Oscar Wilde of the Burberry-wearing Chavistocracy this time? "Keane Are Shit". Wow, that's so witty, original and "out-of-left" that it's almost like the kind of copy you used to get from Morrissey in the 80s. For some unknown reason, my aversion to Keane seems to have just ended....

Oct 6, 2008

Keane will be better than Oasis always. 'Bedshaped' rises above any Oasis shit they have released so Noel...fuck up!

stu conway

Oct 6, 2008

Who cares what Noel thinks about Keane? They might be crap but Oasis have been irrelevant for 10 years!Maybe he should concentrate on his own band rather than criticising everyone elseStu Conway

I would argue that Keane are not shit. I would put forward the opinion that they are FUCKING SHIT! I too am fed up with Chaplin sitting in interviews for ITV and Sky, looking all soft and vulnarable. Hey Chaplin, want some pressure, bring up 3 kids on a housing estate working 14 hour days in a factory on nights......that will give you a reason to hit the bottle............Lightweight Pussy.

Oct 6, 2008

its really sad- but I actually don't like Noel Gallagher anymore, he's just a nasty person now- and Oasis' new album is average at best.

sebrat

Oct 6, 2008

wow - revelation of the century. You just have to read the track names of the new keane album to know it's shit.he's right about bono, though - can't people give the guy a break?

Oct 6, 2008

Oh God I bet Keane are shitting themselves! Not the Gallagher brothers! I think they should just retire now, after all, what chance do they have after Oasis says they are shit? I'm being sarcastic as much as Noel is being a hypocrite.

Dear Noel,To be "taken out of ones comfort zone" is a commonly used expression which means, basically, one is trying things one is not used to. I know the metaphorical use of "comfort" may have confused your poor brain, but that's not reason to kick out at Tom - he's perfectly harmless. If you don't know what something means, just ask. No-one is judging you. We're all friends here.Lots of love;Matthew :) x

Noel Gallagher calling Keane shit. What a badass. Yawn. Why does anybody still care what this past his best twat has to say? Baffles me.

Fuckedupshit

Oct 6, 2008

For once i agree with not just one thing, but all things Noel has said, some one push him off a stage before it gets worse!

BbqMonkey

Oct 6, 2008

Oh dear Noel, you can speak. I will be perfectly happy spending my money on a brilliant band and not waisting a penny on your album, so fed up of seeing Noel on this site every day when ever he says something.

pluggedinbaby

Oct 6, 2008

oasis are the ones who are "twats" and who are "shit". they go around critising other bands music, when they should be concentrating on their own, which has never changed since day 1. shit band and the gallaghers are nobheads

pluggedinbaby

Oct 6, 2008

i brand oasis "fucking abysmal" then!!

"The amount of interviews where someone's come in, out the tape recorder on and go, 'So tell me about the new album?' It's like, is that the best you can come up with? You tell me about your fucking coffee table – what's to say about it?" - noel gallagher. Is he still blabbering on?

Brigzz

Oct 6, 2008

Thats coz keare are shite , and tom chaplin is a complete little girl.

Finally some sense from a Gallagher brother.

gareth675

Oct 6, 2008

Do Oasis have a new album coming out? Guess the must be if Noel has started arguing with everyone again. Funny, he only does it once every couple of years - oh wait, isn't that the frequency they release albums? Twat.

Knoxie

Oct 6, 2008

God, Noel Gallagher's a git. I reckon he thinks slagging other people off for the fun of it makes him REALLY cool.

rick 13

Oct 6, 2008

hes right that keane are shit n twats, hes right about U2 writing good songs, but hes wrong about bono cos bono is one of the biggest cunts in the music industry, hes up there with tom jones, sting, madonna

chilipepper91

Oct 6, 2008

I really wish Oasis would shut the fuck up for at least a week rather than making some outrageous comment, which NME inevitably put as their headline. Fuck off back to the 90s.

ianblades03@hotmail.com

Oct 6, 2008

noel blasts another band...shocker!!!chaplin saying they were getting out of their comfort zone... worded differently didnt oasis say exactly the same thing about the new album...not going for the britpop but trying something different???

Cheeseandonion

Oct 6, 2008

Dear Noel: "being taken out of his comfort zone when making his new album" means not regurgitating the same sub- sub- sub-Beatles detritus again and again and yet again FOR ALL ETERNITY ferchrissakes. You know - a bit like Damon Albarn does with The Good The Bad & The Queen and Monkey: The Opera and Gorillaz and and the rest.

Beatle_Matt

Oct 6, 2008

Right on. Have you heard "Spiralling"...utter garbage.

do we really need to oasis to tell us the keane are shit - probably not - but its no suprise that they think so

jumbo999

Oct 6, 2008

im no fan of keane but if i had to choose between their new album and oasis', id choose not to listen to noel murdering his formulaic mid tempo dirges and id pick the keane cd. sounds like they have gone out of their comfort zone having heard the single. its ok. respect to the band for trying something different. oasis on the other hand......yawn

lipgloss

Oct 6, 2008

Jesus, you lot need to get a grip. Noel is just voicing a fucking opinion. Most of us have them. I think Keane are shit, i think Kaiser Chiefs are shit, i think Razorlight are shit, i think the fucking wombats are especially shit etc etc... There! Shoot me.

TheCowboyJunky

Oct 6, 2008

Here is a big 'pat on the back' for everyone who has joined in at slagging Noel off. What a load of bollocks. Comments like "Bedshaped rises above any Oasis shit they have released" and "Oasis have been irrelevant for 10 years"... What? Are you honestly serious? My god, clean your ears out. I wouldn't say I agree with everything Noel says by far, but come on people... Keane better than Oasis... you must be joking!

possitive mental attitude

Oct 6, 2008

hahahahahahahaha have you heard yourselves..Do you really think Noel gives a shit if people don't like his music.. he has been there and done it.. and knows he is going to go multi platinum 10 times over fill the biggest venues in the world and it don't matter that you pricks like them or not... Im a big oasis fan and admit that its a bit boring reading about every fart that he takes in the NME. Funny though that all you haters have took the time to listen to the album..... f**kin keane hahahahahaha shit...

THE NME IS DOGSHIT

Oasis Vs Keane in a fight to the death!Surely a win-win situation.

Soundedd

Oct 6, 2008

I'm sorry I've sat back for long enough, I simply have to comment and I have to back "possitive mental attitude" and "TheCowboyJunky". The fact is, Oasis are relevant and will always be relevant because everytime Gallagher opens his mouth he gets about 50 comments on here. Everytime he releases an album you lot listen to it!, and have you heard yourselves, ok sure I don't want to know everything Gallagher does nor do I agree with him all the time, but Noel doesn't care he hates you!, so go listen to your "revelutionary" Kings Of Leon albums, I'm quite content with Dig Out Your Soul. Right i'm off up the shops to buy Dig Out Your Soul and seeing as it has Glasvegas in, this weeks NME. Happy Days :D

noeling

Oct 6, 2008

i dun agree with noel's habit of slamming every other bands out there, especially to a band like keane who aren't in the same ranks as his band. it will be really pathetic of noel if he anxiously sees keane as his competitor.but im really no fan of keane's neither. the first album had a couple of interesting tunes, but they didn't last long. the rest were just sleeping pills. and i've been too scared to try their 2nd and 3rd albums....

dontgoaway123

Oct 8, 2008

I'd like to see any of you sell 50 million albums worldwide.Oasis have done exactly that,so they can't be that shit, even if their albums maybe aren't as good as their first one.But they have a sell-out tour, and Dig Out Your Soul is already set to be a #1 album by sunday,so Oasis are definitely still relevant to music. And so what if Noel doesn't like a band?I don't like some bands either, and I'm guessing there's bands you think are shit too.I actually like one of Keane's songs and they can't be that shit if they're selling albums-but geez.Noel's allowed an opinion.
