Emo vs The Daily Mail filmed for documentary

The protest by My Chemical Romance fans against the Daily Mail's coverage of emo at the weekend (May 31) has been filmed for a documentary.

Internet music site Audio Junkies filmed the protest and have posted a trailer online already (watch it below).

Entitled Emo protest vs Daily Mail, the documentary covers the protest and includes footage of fans tearing up a Daily Mail newspaper as well as interviews with gathered protestors.

Comments on the video trailer on Youtube.com range from supportive to very negative.

It is unknown when the full-length version of the film will be released.

My Chemical Romance fans protested outside the Daily Mail's office following articles published in the paper that branded emo a 'suicide cult', although the Daily Mail defended its coverage as 'balanced and restrained'.

MCR makes music -- Fans (some of whom are 'emo') enjoy the music -- a little girls commits suicide -- a Coroner links the girls death to listening to MCR's music (stupid) -- the Daily Mail profits on the Coroner's remarks (and the poor girl's death) -- a bunch of emo kids protest the Mail's (calculated) reporting -- now this Jed Marshal dude (an idiot) wants to capitalize on all of this. I love MCR but making a movie of the protest is a bit ott... I wish i could ahve been there to support MCR but sadly i couldnt... I believe that the Daily-Fucking-Mail only wrote these stories 'cause they knew it would be a big scoop and would make them a profit. They have not go on any facts and everything they printed about MCR is not true.

I wish I could have been there at the protest! The stupid Daily Mail are talking complete crap when they say emo is a 'suicide cult' - I mean, that'd be okay linking Hannah Bond's suicide to emo if it was a suicide cult, but it isn't!!! Honest to god, the Daily Mail is talking shit! But about the movie...it's a bit OTT to make a MOVIE about it - I mean, how are they going to make it stretch to a full movie? If they do make one, though, I'd want to see it, just to see how they approached it and all.

Emo means "emotional hardcore" not "lets all kill ourselves!" It's like saying that because we (as people-well I do) eat chickens we are mass murderers. GET INTO PERSPECTIVE! I like music but don't act like the songs describe.. or do i? Well...But emo in general is a wee bit poserish. Well, a lot bit poserish. A movie would just give them the mpublicity they so desperatley crave!

Awesome, dude!Not. These kids are middle-class, raised in the suburbs. They should at least protest against something worth while, not a crappy band, and a stupid newspaper article, published by a newspaper that's not even famous.Jesus, these kids should just quit it.

firstly.. i dont believe mcr are even emo.. wat the hell is emo any way.. there is no clear definition of it. everyone has their own idea of wat it is.. im not emo as i dont even know wat it is.. and i back mcr(huge fan!)!! To call their documentary EMO PROTEST VS DAILY MAIL is just doing exactly wat the daily mail did.. which is putting ppl under a title.. like SUICIDE CULT! pls man... honestly this documentary is a lot of cr@p. it is giving ppl the wrong idea about mcr fans and classing mcr as emo.. when they themselves have said they are NOT emo!! watever that may be
