The single has already been a hit in the USA

MIA is releasing her acclaimed track 'Paper Planes' as a single in the UK following its crossover success in the USA.

The third single from her second album, 2007's 'Kala', the song was a big hit in the States, thanks to its inclusion in the theatrical trailer for new Seth Rogen stoner movie 'Pineapple Express'.

The song, which samples The Clash's 'Straight To Hell', has since been covered by Rihanna and sampled by TI on his track 'Swagger Like Us'.

The UK single is released on October 13 by XL, and will be followed by an expanded reissue of 'Kala' itself.
