A new album could be on the way

Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham have been working on original material together that could be destined for a new Led Zeppelin album.

Drummer Jason Bonham told Detroit radio station 94.7 WCSX that writing new material had always been "on the cards" since the band's one-off reunion show in London last December.

However, singer Robert Plant has not been involved in the sessions yet.

"I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying [out] some new material," he said. "I don't know what it will be, but it will be something. At the moment, all I know is I have the great pleasure to go and jam with the two guys and start work on some material.

"When I get there [in the studio] I never ask any questions. If I get a phone call to go and play, I enjoy every moment of it. Whatever it ends up as, to ever get a chance to jam with two people like that, it is a phenomenal thing for me. It's my life. It's what I've dreamed about doing.

"[The] possibility of doing something [like an album] is on the cards. I really felt it was on the cards from the moment we walked offstage at the O2 [Arena].

"Lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out [before an album could be made]."

I'd like to see them do a tour, if they think it feels right. But there is no way they should even consider recording new material, at least not under the Led Zeppelin name. For one thing, they'd just ruin that amazing recording legacy they have from 1969-1980. And also, it isn't really Led Zeppelin without John Bonham. In fact, when Bonzo died in 1980, they said their was no way they could continue as a band without him. They have shown that they can still carry off a live show, but I think they've become a little bit caught up in the excitement of it all, and the suggestion of new material is very reactionary.

I'd love to see them live. But i really hope they don't record any new material. Zeppelin are done, and we can all look back and love everything they did. DON'T RUIN IT! PLEASE!

I say go Kick Ass, Its like saying your mum can't be happy after your dad dies. Bonzo would just say, yeah, F%$#k it, let the kid play. I would see them if they were 85 and senile. Pink Floyd did it when Sid left, and when waters left. If your a fan your a fan. I say bring it on.

I love Led Zeppelin's old stuff. Their album "Mothership" Is an amzing album! One of my favourites! If they did do new stuff, yeh it might be good, but what would they do, Pretty much there an old band, but, take Metallica for example. They have been around since 1981, but they have a new album out on Friday. It is suppose to be pretty good. There most recent album out came out in 2003, which was pretty good. And Guns n Roses, They've been around for a while but they spend 15 years for a new album to come out!

I've been a fan since 73 and hope they do another album prior to touring. Bonzo's gone but Jason is quite capable of jumping in as was evident from the London show. Let's get her done boys and time to ROCK and ROLL.
