Band set to play hometown gig in brand new venue

Kaiser Chiefs will play the first gig at the new Leeds Academy on October 8.

The hometown gig will be their first since the band played to 35,000 fans at Leeds United's Elland Road football ground in May.

Other acts confirmed to play at Leeds Academy include Foals (October 9), The Last Shadow Puppets (October 13) and The Pigeon Detectives (December 17/18).

The 2,300 capacity venue, on the site of the old Town And Country Club, has been the subject of a £4,500,000 redevelopment.

Kaiser Chiefs release their third album, 'Off With Their Heads' on October 13, before they head out on a UK tour this autumn.
