French festival promoter fury at missed show
The organisers of a French music festival are threatening legal action after Amy Winehouse pulled out on Friday (August 29) with just hours to go.
The troubled star was due to headline at the three-day Rock En Seine festival in Paris but pulled out at the eleventh hour claiming she had taken ill at home.
Now, Rock En Seine have said there was "no explanation of the exact reasons for her absence". They also say they were given just two hours notice that Winehouse would not be appearing.
"We are very sorry about this situation and share the disappointment of the festival-goers," a statement from organisers said.
A spokesman declined to comment on the threat of legal action, reports the BBC.
London Ambulance Service said their paramedics had not been called to the singer's address on Friday night.
is next due to appear at the Bestival festival on the Isle of Wight next Saturday (September 6).
