Coldplay open registration for free London and New York gigs

Plus get the band's comeback single for free now

Coldplay 's website is now allowing fans to register for the chance to claim free gig tickets for the band's forthcoming live gigs in London and New York.

The band will play London Brixton Academy on June 16 and New York Madison Square Garden on June 23.

Fans wishing to be in with a chance of getting free tickets need to leave their details on the Coldplay.com. All those who register will be entered into a draw that decides who wins the tickets.

Coldplay are giving away one grand prize for the New York show. One winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the gig from anywhere in the world including tickets, flights and accommodation.

The results of both the London and New York gig ballots will be announced on June 5.

Meanwhile you can get hold of two of Coldplay's new songs for free now.

The band have teamed with NME to release their comeback single on seven-inch, with our issue, which is out now.

The record features the first ever physical release of 'Violet Hill', plus new track 'A Spell A Rebel Yell', which will only ever be released on this disc.

To get hold of your free record get the issue of NME on UK newsstands now, or alternatively head to the NME Store and order your magazine and single online.

its_rudimentary... every coldplay article on here has a comment from you about how crap you think they are, just don't bother to click on the articles if you're not a fan!

Oh look he's at it again...its_rudimentary it's clear you don't like Coldplay so, like i said before, why bother commenting on articles? Comment on someone who you like rather than ones you don't, so you don't waste your time. A for the gigs, i wish i could go, but living in the North of England means London is a bit of a trek for me. It's nice bands are offering their fans free gigs, as those who can't usually afford gigs on tour dates get the oppertunity to see their favourite artists. Free downloads, free gigs? All we need now is free festivals (but we all know that won't happen!) The new stuff sounds awesome and i wish Coldplay all the best for the forthcoming album. TOUR PLEASE!

Heard a new tune on XFM last night. Very dull. The DJ described it as 'epic'?? He needs to listen to The Last Shadow Puppets if he's into his epic tunes...Coldplay. Mint first album. Pretty decent second album. Enough said.
